BIG LIES ABOUT WEIGHT LOSS

What is the secret in losing weight? Do the ads on TV or internet really work? Are you confused about what the experts tell you? Did you know that people, who tried to lose weight using conventional diets, eventually, gained the lost pounds back and even became fatter that they used to be?


Losing weight is actually isn’t that hard if you just know what really works and what doesn’t? So read on to be informed of the LIES on LOOSING WEIGHT and finally, lose those ugly fats.





LIE #1

THEY SAY CERTAIN TYPES OF PERSONS CAN’T LOSE WEIGHT.


Our genes have predetermined fat cells, which mean that some people naturally have more fats than that of others. And women have more fat composition than man. Existing fat cells tend to increase in number when our energy intake is more than our energy expenditure.

When people reach adulthood, the number of fat stays the same except in the case of severe obesity. Since their fat cells have reached the maximum capacity, new fat cells begin to develop. Because of this some people say, “I have more fat cells that other people, so what’s the use, I will never lose weight. And some even say, Obesity is genetic!

We’ll it’s easy to make excuses and providing seemingly logical explanations to explain failure. But here’s the truth, the number of fat cells a person has could influence how difficult it would be for a person to lose weight. BUT, it doesn’t mean that it is impossible for you to get lean.


LIE #2

THE BEST DIET IN LOSING WEIGHT IS LOW FAT.

A certain amount of fat is needed for our body. Some fats aren’t made from our body, which means, we should have it in our diet. Essential Vitamins like Vitamin A, D, E, K are fat soluble, so it needs fatty acids as carriers.

An unsaturated fat, by the way is a good kind of fat. It becomes liquid at room temperature. And saturated fats are the bad ones. Fat is essential to our body, the only thing we should know is what type of fat we are going to eat.  Remember, we also need fat in our diet.


LIE#3

COUNTING CALORIES IS NOT NEEDED.

You really need to count the calories you take in if you want to lose weight. Some people just focus on the physical activity and not the calories. Losing weight means that, your caloric output (calories lost during exercise etc) must be greater that your caloric intake. So, how are you going to determine what are the changes that needs to be done if you don’t know where you stand? And another tip, don’t estimate your caloric intake.


LIE #4

LOSING WEIGHT MEANS EATING NOTHING OR STRAVING YOURSELF.

Losing weight by starving yourself is a big no no. Did you know that by eating nothing you slow down your metabolic rate, thus making weigh loss slower or even ineffective? And a sudden decrease of caloric intake signals our body that we are on impending starvation, thus it lowers the metabolic process and conserves calories. In conclusion, dropping calories means that our metabolic rate drops too.


LIE #5

FAD DIETS IS THE BEST CHOICE TO PERMANENTLY LOSE WEIGHT.

Fad diets may actually work at first. But eventually people get tired of it due to many food restrictions. And fad diets such as South Beach diet, Atkins diet etc are not healthy because they don’t provide the nutrients needed for out body.

Research suggests that losing at a fast rate like more than 3 pounds per week could predispose you to gallstones. And research also says that losing ½ to 2pound per week by choosing healthy foods and exercise is the right way to lose weight.


LIE # 6

WEIGHT GAIN IS GENETIC IT IS INHERITED.

There is no such thing as a fat gene passed from generation to generation. If the parents are overweight, the child may have the tendency to be overweight not because of the parents genes, but maybe for the reason of unhealthy food choices.  Being overweight is not genetic, but is just another excuse.

LIE #7

CARBOHYDRATES MAKE YOU FAT.

Carbohydrates doesn’t make you fat, but calories does.  It’s the sugar and the fat content of the carbohydrates that make you fatter.  Just know what to eat, and eat in moderation. Remember, everything in excess is bad for your body.


LIE # 8

WEIGHT LOSS PILLS ARE THE BEST TO LOSE WEIGHT.

Would you believe me if I say, there are pills that could make you smarter, and richer? Of course, you wouldn’t. You would probably laugh. There is no secret in losing weight. Especially those weight loss pills sold today. There had been no pills proven to help you lose weight healthily and safely.


LIE # 9

YOU COULD LOSE WEIGHT IN ANY SPECIFIC PART OF THE BODY.

It is fairly impossible, to lose weight on a specific part of the body. No one could control where the fat to be removed is going to be. Any machine or workout exercise that claims to help you lose fast in a specific area is lying! Fat will only disappear in a predetermined order like belly area in men and hips in thighs in women. But there is no truth that you could choose what part of the body you would work out on to lose weight.


LIE # 10

DON’T WEIGH YOURSELF.

It’s another lie that some people believe on. Weighing yourself, serves as a motivational tool to check your weight on a daily basis. And know, if what you’re doing is effective or whether you need to change your weight loss plan.

These are just some of the lies in losing weight. So just stick to a healthy diet, no need to restrict yourself on any food. But don’t eat too much, don’t forget to have enough rest, exercise and healthy diet. Anybody can lose weight, the answer just depends on you. There are no shortcuts, it is long term process. So, know you know some of the big lies in weight loss.
