Tips You Can't Ignore To Avoid Kidney Stones

There are many types of kidney stones but the most common is the calcium oxalate which is 80% of all the stones. This is due to the increase level of calcium in your blood. A stone that is due to infection in the urinary tract is called struvite kidney stones. Mostly, women suffer from this than men, as they have shorter urethra than men making them more prone to urinary tract infection.   Crytine stones occur due to congenital abnormalities or defects. This kind of stones accumulates in the kidney.

Kidney stones occur when you excrete little amount of urine compared to the level of uric acid present in your blood. Mostly people who have gout are likely to have kidney stones. Below are some tips to prevent or lower your risk of having stones:

DIET.  Your diet plays a vital role in preventing stones. Ideally, your diet should be base on vegetables, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, and fruits. Eat more foods that are rich in fiber.

Avoid foods that have oxalates such as nuts, spinach, beets, black tea, wheat bran, strawberries, beans, and chocolates.
Minimize eating meat, cheese, and salt. Also cut down intake of refined foods, caffeine, alcohol, and sugar.

Eat food high in magnesium and low in calcium, such as corn, oats, brown rich, potatoes, avocadoes, barley, and bananas.

WATER.  It is very helpful in flushing out toxins and various bacteria that could cause the formation of stones.  You should also avoid soda because it is high in sugar and phosphorus. Keep in mind that phosphorous is a mineral and thus could trigger the formation of stones. You should drink at least 6-8 glasses of water everyday. It helps to keep our body hydrated as well as helping to avoid the pain of kidney stones.

EXERCISE.  Weight bearing exercise is the best as it helps stores calcium to our bones where it belongs as instead of in the urine. But you should always keep in mind that too much exercise may lead to dehydration or lactic acidosis which are both factors that cause kidney stone formation. So exercise in moderation.

DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS. Take dietary supplements that could help you avoid formation of kidney stones. Magnesium citrate 200-400 mg daily increases calcium oxalate and calcium phosphates solubility. Pyridoxine (B6) 10-100 mg daily is vital for oxalic acids metabolism, which is a component of some kidney stones. Lastly, take 5 mg of folic acid to help you break down stones due to uric acid.

HERBAL. It is the safest and the most natural way to strengthen the body. It has many forms; it could be in capsules, powders, teas, extracts, or tinctures. Teas are made of 1 tsp. herb in one cup of hot water. Steep the tea covered 5-10 minutes for leaves or flowers, and 10-20 minutes for roots. Drink 1-4 cups daily.

Make sure you visit your doctor and have professional diagnosis. There are many health issues with related signs and symptoms as kidney stones.

Having a knowledge with foods that causes kidney stone is just half of the battle in defeating them. It is still a possibility that you could suffer from this condition, but overall the pain will be less intense and the frequency of stone formation is less often. Simple things like modifying your diet and increasing your water intake can prove to be very helpful.
